Contact the Athena Clinic in Hawaii for Micrograft Hair Restoration.
What is it?
Micrograft Hair Restoration is an "in clinic" minor surgical procedure that involves relocating (transplanting) the "bald resistant" hair follicles from the back of the head to the balding areas on the top and front of the head.
How does it work?
Under a local anesthetic (lidocaine), and sterile conditions, a small strip of hair is surgically removed from the back or the head. Individual hair follicles (containing between 1 to 4 hairs) are surgically separated and prepared for reinsertion in the balding areas of the scalp. This is accomplished by making a tiny incision with a special scalpel and then placing the harvested hair follicle in the incision. This is repeated between 500 - 1200 times during the procedure. The procedure takes about 4-8 hours to complete (depending on the number of "follicular units" to be transplanted. Patients usually watch a few of their favorite DVD's during the procedure and take breaks to eat and use the restroom.
This process is effective and will last a lifetime because the hair follicles taken from the back of the head are genetically resistant to baldness, no matter where they are transplanted.
